Happy Brrrr Year!
The North Olympic Peninsula is freezing, and frigid temperatures are expected to hold through Tuesday.
The National Weather Service is predicting more cold weather today and Monday.
Daytime high temperatures aren’t expected to reach the freezing mark until Tuesday in the central and eastern parts of the Olympic Peninsula. Forks and Neah Bay are expected see highs slightly above freezing.
The mercury is expected to dip into the mid-teens tonight before climbing back up to 26 on Monday night, when more snow is possible.
By Tuesday, the snow should change to rain with temperatures rising into the low 40s.
The cold temperatures might be good news to those who welcomed the snowflakes that blanketed most of the Peninsula on Saturday.
From 1 to 7 inches of snow fell from the West End to Port Townsend, with the most snow reported in Clallam Bay and Sekiu.
