When Jimmie Shreve became the caregiver for Elizabeth MacNeille last August, they had an reached an understanding — they would both kill themselves together.
They both suffered from disabilities — MacNeille from physically debilitating multiple sclerosis and Shreve from Tourette’s syndrome, an uncontrollable muscular disorder compounded with obscene expressions.
And when the 54-year-old MacNeille of Port Townsend, was shot to death by Shreve in a remote wooded area south of Blyn on Tuesday, it was part of a long-planned double-suicide.
But Shreve, 51, couldn’t follow through and turned himself in to Port Townsend police.
Those details came to light Tuesday night as Shreve confessed, police said.
The details appear in the Friday/Saturday Peninsula Daily News, on sale throughout Clallam and Jefferson counties. Click onto “Subscribe” to order your PDN delivered to your home or office.
