Peninsula: Telephone service to Forks interrupted

FORKS — Long distance service from Port Angeles to Forks had been interrupted for more than 24 hours as of late Saturday.

According to Forks police, the service interruption began before 9 p.m. Friday.

A check at about 9 p.m. Saturday showed service was still unavailable.

Police said they could call out long distance and that the 9-1-1 system was working. Residents and businesses were also able to make local calls.
