PORT ANGELES — Snow business is slow business when it comes to Hurricane Ridge.
Less than 12 inches of snow on the Ridge has put a chill on snowboard and ski sales and rentals across the North Olympic Peninsula.
This time last year, there was a 5-foot base, and skiers who couldn’t wait were already riding the Ridge’s cross-country snow trails 17 miles south of Port Angeles in Olympic National Park.
This year, mild winter weather has meant little snow.
But ski and snowboard shop owners say that could all change with one good storm.
