The trial of a Port Townsend man charged with killing a disabled woman under his care as part of a double-suicide pact has been delayed.
Jimmie Shreve, 51, faces charges of first-degree murder for allegedly killing Elizabeth MacNeille, 54, who was in the advanced stages of multiple sclerosis and had indicated a desire to die, charging documents say.
The trial, set to begin Monday, has been delayed until Jan. 14, according to a clerk of the Clallam County Superior Court.
The date change was made in Port Angeles during a preliminary hearing Wednesday in front of Superior Court Judge Ken Williams. Shreve had signed a document waiving his right to a speedy trial, the clerk said
