Washington State Patrol troopers are launching a one-day operation to target aggressive drivers on the Olympic Peninsula.
On Friday, troopers will patrol U.S. Highway 101 and state highways in neighboring counties for aggressive drivers and other traffic violators.
The mobilization, titled “Olympic Loop Emphasis,” comes in response to public concern over recent road rage incidents, including a one-car crash July 27 on Highway 101 in Gardiner that killed a Port Angeles man.
“People in general are concerned about aggressive drivers in the Clallam-Jefferson county area,” Trooper Glen Tyrrell said Tuesday.
Troopers on Friday will use unmarked cars, airplanes and “whatever we can do throughout the whole region to take care of that,” Tyrrell said.
