Clallam and Jefferson countie’s unemployment rates fell slightly during February compared with the same month last year, the monthly state unemployment report shows.
The Washington State Department of Employment Security reported that Clallam County showed an 8.5 percent unemployment rate and Jefferson County a 7.1 percent rate during February.
That compares with 8.6 percent for Clallam County and 7.3 percent for Jefferson County during February 2002.
The Clallam County rate for January was at 8.8 percent while Jefferson County reported 7.3 percent.
Washington’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose one-tenth of a percent to 6.8 percent in February, Employment Security Commissioner Sylvia P. Mundy announced Tuesday. The nation’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate also increased by one-tenth of a percentage point to 5.8 percent.
