The annual United Way of Clallam County and United Good Neighbors of Jefferson County fund-raising drives begin this month.
In Jefferson County, United Good Neighbors will hold a kick-off luncheon at noon Friday at the Port Townsend Elks Club, 555 Otto St., Port Townsend.
Volunteer campaign leaders and agency representatives will be on hand, including campaign Chairman Larry Wilson, President Dyrk Lansdon and members of the United Good Neighbors board.
This year’s goal is to raise $240,000 for distribution to agencies providing various services to Jefferson County residents, officials said.
Officials from United Way of Clallam County will begin their campaign Sept. 14, with volunteers helping build playgrounds, cleaning signs and painting buildings throughout the county.
This year is the 50th anniversary of the United Way of Clallam County.
