Peninsula: Woman dies in failed double-suicide pact

PORT TOWNSEND — A 54-year-old disabled woman was shot to death by her live-in caregiver in an apparent failed double-suicide pact.

Elizabeth MacNeille of Hancock Street apparently died from a gunshot wound to the head in a remote area along Woods Road in Clallam County, south of Blyn.

Her live-in caregiver, Jimmie Shreve, 51, was unable to complete the suicide pact and turned himself in to Port Townsend police, according to Police Chief Kristen Anderson.

Shreve is scheduled to appear in Clallam County Superior Court at 1 p.m. today to face a first-degree murder charge.
