Differing with the Democratic Party leadership, U.S. Rep. Norm Dicks says he supports President Bush’s decision to attack Iraq without the United Nations’ full approval.
“I believe (U.S.-led forces) are prepared to do this, and they are going to do this very quickly,” said Dicks, who traveled to the Middle East two weeks ago with a congressional delegation, which included stops in Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
“And I think there will be a lot of capitulation by Iraqi forces to the United States as they move forward.”
The congressman, whose district includes Jefferson and Clallam counties, said Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein’s failure to disarm leaves the United States no choice but to take action.
“We’ve given him 12 years,” Dicks said in an interview.
