INDIAN ISLAND — The annual harbor defense exercised called Operation Seahawk is scheduled to begin next week, but little information about the military activity is available.
The only firm information about the exercise obtained by Peninsula Daily News is a Department of the Navy request for portable toilets in Port Hadlock, Port Angeles and Whidbey Island.
According to the request, the exercise will take place Aug. 15-26.
For the past seven years, Naval Magazine Indian Island has hosted Operation Seahawk.
Civilian personnel at Indian Island said Tuesday that a Navy spokesperson will be appointed for the activity soon. Information about the deployment will then be released.
