Construction at the corner of Jefferson Street and East Sims Way in Port Townsend for a new visitor center is seen Tuesday. Work is expected to be completed in October.

During the $421,928 project, all construction is happening from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Jefferson Street is closed to traffic until construction is completed.

Improvements to the property include enhanced visitor center access, additional parking, new stormwater facilities, landscaping and 275 feet of sidewalk.
