PORT ANGELES — Parks Department worker Brooke Keohokaloke, right, hands a drill to coworker Leon Leonard as the pair assemble new playground equipment at Georgiana Park in Port Angeles on Tuesday. The equipment was the result of $148,000 in funding and in-kind labor to buy new playground pieces and a wheelchair-friendly surface for the play area, located a block from Olympic Medical Center. Keohokaloke said the goal was to have the equipment finished and the playground open by the end of summer.
