PORT TOWNSEND — Joseph Molotsky, a handler for Discovery Bay Wild Bird Rescue, holds Kenadie, a mature golden eagle, between Avamere of Port Townsend residents Rochelle Adams, left, and Brenda DeVore.
Avamere seniors watched a raptor presentation Monday afternoon from Cindy Daily, the director of the rescue center.
Daily said Kenadie was named after a young girl who lost her battle with cancer when she was 10.
“When she died, she asked us to remember to be kind to each other,” Daily said.
Molotsky has worked with Kenadie for the past year. The eagle had a head injury and lead poisoning and will not be able to be released back into the wild, Daily said.
