Photography exhibit shows Peninsula College from different views

PORT ANGELES — A Peninsula College photographic perspective celebrating the college’s 50th anniversary will open at The Landing mall gallery Thursday.

The exhibition, which will run through Dec. 31, is a collection of photographs taken by photographer Harry von Stark of Quilcene that show facets of Peninsula College, with an emphasis on the architecture of the campus buildings.

An artist’s reception will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at The Landing mall gallery, 115 E. Railroad Ave., Port Angeles.

The reception will feature live jazz music and refreshments.

All of the photographs in the exhibit will be for sale.

Proceeds will benefit the Peninsula College Foundation, which supports college programs.

Von Stark combines his graphics background with photography in his work.

Born in Germany, he grew up in Northern California and attended Platt Graphics College in San Francisco.

He has lived on the North Olympic Peninsula for several years, and his work has been published in many local publications.

He has also served as program advisory committee member for Peninsula College’s multimedia program.

The Peninsula College Foundation raises funds for the college through special events.

The college’s main campus is at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.

The college also has branches in Port Townsend and Forks.
