COVINGTON — The pilot of a small plane that went down in a lake near Covington was rescued by neighbors using kayaks, according to Mountain View Fire.
KIRO-TV reported the plane crashed into Lake Morton shortly before noon Monday.
The King County Sheriff’s Office said witnesses saw a plane with no engine crash into the middle of the lake.
The man in his 30s was conscious and had no significant injuries, expect possible hypothermia, fire officials said.
He was taken to Harborview Medical Center.
It appeared one of the plane’s wings was separated from the fuselage.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Bureau will investigate the cause of the crash.
