Police: Car pulls out around log truck, collides with another car in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man was injured in a wreck at the intersection of U.S. Highway 101 and state Highway 112 Monday morning.

Jonathan Martin, 38 of Port Angeles was driving a 2003 Toyota eastbound on Highway 112 approaching the intersection with Highway 101, where a log truck was stopped for traffic, said Trooper Russ Winger, spokesman for the State Patrol.

Martin drove around the log truck to the left and failed to stop for the stop sign, and the car struck a westbound 1992 Honda in the intersection, Winger said.

Martin was injured and taken by ambulance to Olympic Medical Center, he said.

He was treated for his injuries and released, an OMC spokeswoman said Monday afternoon.

Winger said the driver of the Honda, Robby Robertson, 52, of Port Angeles, was not injured.

A medical emergency might have triggered the wreck, and troopers are investigating to see if charges are appropriate, Winger said.
