PORT ANGELES — The west Eighth Street bridge over the Tumwater Truck Route — and the truck route itself — were closed for a short time today because a man sat on the railing and threatened to jump — for the second time in two days, Port Angeles police said.
Port Angeles police Cpl. David Dombrowski, a trained negotiator, talked the man off the railing at about 4:45 p.m., Powless said.
He was the same unidentified man who police talked off the bridge’s railing on Wednesday.
Powless said the man had been released after being detained under the Involuntary Treatment Act on Wednesday.
The man was booked today into the Clallam County jail for investigation of interfering with a police officer, Powless said.
The bridge and truck route were closed at 4:30 p.m., and reopened at about 4:50 p.m.
