PORT ANGELES — A man on Wednesday morning hopped the counter at the downtown Bank of America branch and absconded with a bag of cash.
It was the second robbery at the branch in seven months.
Police have identified the man as Benjamin Michael Arredondo, 38, of Port Angeles.
He allegedly escaped with the stolen money in a 1975 full-size black Ford pickup truck with chrome wheels.
A temporary warrant for Arredondo’s arrest was issued Wednesday and investigators were trying to determine if the man had left the North Olympic Peninsula, police Cpl. Jack Lowell said.
Reports Wednesday night indicated Arredondo may be headed to Texas.
The truck he is suspected of driving is registered as stolen, and he may be armed with stolen handguns, according to reports.
