PORT ANGELES — Police arrested a local man late Saturday for a string of apparent arsons, including one at City Hall.
John Douglas Deckebach, 38, of 1711 W. Sixth St., was apprehended about 9 p.m. at William R. Fairchild International Airport after allegedly attempting to start his third blaze of the evening.
Police Capt. Terry Gallagher was not sure late Saturday if Deckebach has a criminal history.
But Gallagher said Deckebach is “known” to police.
Gallagher confirmed that Deckebach carried a list of intended targets when he was apprehended.
But the detective would not comment on contents of the list.
But Clallam County Sheriff’s Department deputies assisting police said the list included the Peninsula Daily News main offices and printing plant and radio stations KONP and KIKN.
