PORT ANGELES — A proposed stormwater utility charge could fund projects to solve chronic flooding and encourage economic development, City Economic Development Director Glenn Cutler told residential and business property owners during two public sessions Thursday at City Hall.
Two more meetings are scheduled for 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
The City Utility Advisory Committee will discuss the issue during their 3 p.m. meeting May 14 at City Hall.
Under the city stormwater utility proposal, the owners of single family homes and duplexes would be charged a flat rate from $6 to $8.
Businesses and multi-family residences would be charged the same rate based on every 4,000 square feet of impervious surface, Cutler said.
