PORT ANGELES — A proposed stormwater utility fee won’t come before the City Council for approval until at least mid-July after the city’s Utility Advisory Committee proposed several changes during a three-hour meeting.
Some of those changes include reducing the proposed monthly charge, currently $6 to $8 for most residential homeowners; charging the fee to city properties; including the charge as a line item on an existing utility instead making it a separate utility; and some kind of phased approach to fixing and capital projects.
City staff will research the proposed changes and report back to the committee at its July 9 meeting. The next City Council meeting following that would be July 16.
