PORT ANGELES — The proposed Oak Street hotel and conference center faces its latest hurdle as the state Shoreline Hearings Board hears three days of testimony this week.
The board will listen to arguments for and against appeals filed by opponents of the city’s shoreline development permit for the project.
The appeals were filed late last year by a rival hotel owner, Best Western Olympic Lodge’s Tod McClaskey Jr., a group of property owners on the bluff overlooking the project site and Ed Tuttle and Carl Alexander Jr., longtime critics of the Port of Port Angeles.
McClaskey’s interests are being represented by local attorney Craig Ritchie.
The case is listed as “Tod McClaskey Jr. et al v. Ehm Architecture, city of Port Angeles, Port of Port Angeles and state Department of Ecology.”
After hearing testimony, the six-member board is expected to make a decision by June.
