PORT ANGELES — Prosecutors on Thursday formally charged the ninth person to be arrested in the investigation of an alleged cocaine ring.
Randy Blount Owens, a contractor in Port Angeles, was charged in Clallam County Superior Court with felony possession with intent to manufacture or deliver cocaine following a police search of his home and business during which investigators said they found about 4½ ounces of cocaine and $70,000 in cash.
About a dozen of Owens’ family and friends were in the courtroom Thursday afternoon but declined to comment on the charge.
Port Angeles attorney Brian Coughenour, who appeared in court on Owens’ behalf but will not be representing him further, called Owens, a reputable, law-abiding citizen with no criminal record and a good father who always attends his children’s sporting events.
