PORT ANGELES — Voters could be asked to approve a future bond issue for renovation and expansion of William Shore Memorial Pool.
A January 1999 feasibility study presented three options for renovating the 41-year-old indoor pool at 225 E. Fifth St.
The City Council earlier this week approved spending almost $21,000 to study a fourth option as well as update the three outlined in the 1999 study.
Parks and Recreation Director Marc Connelly told the council that the pool project has been on the horizon for many years. A project its size would have to be put to a bond issue, he said, without citing a figure.
“We’re the only game in town,” Connelly said. “We look to stay that way for a long time.”
