Port Angeles: Council to consider bridge project funding options

PORT ANGELES — Replacement of the city’s two Eighth Street bridges always has loomed on the horizon.

But the recent posting of weight limits on the spans makes the projects a little more urgent, according to city Public Works Director Glenn Cutler.

Estimated replacement cost for the towering bridges is $7.8 million each, according to city figures. Cutler will present a preliminary package of funding sources to the City Council at a meeting Tuesday.
