PORT ANGELES — City residents could see their water and sewer rates increase next year to pay for past and future construction projects.
The City Council approved paying $26,150 for Economic and Engineering Services to study city water and sewer rates and recommend increases.
The study will cover the next five years, but only recommend rates for the next three. It should be completed by August.
The city reviews its utility rates every three years to make sure they cover expenses, Public Works Director Glenn Cutler said Tuesday.
The study will review revenues and expenses to determine how much more money city water and sewer utilities need to collect to maintain services and pay for projects and debt service.
