PORT ANGELES — If approved by the City Council, an additional $10,000 will be available to groups, clubs and organizations to help fund special events and festivals that will attract overnight visitors to Port Angeles this fall and winter.
The money was approved last week by the city Lodging Tax Committee, which recommends to the City Council how revenue from Port Angeles hotel-motel-B&B bed taxes is used to promote local tourism.
The council is expected to endorse the committee’s recommendation later this month.
The money is disbursed by the Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors.
