PORT ANGELES — Randal Jay Ehm is excited about his proposed $17 million waterfront hotel and conference center project to be built on property at the foot of Oak Street.
“No one knows this project better than I do — we are on the verge of proceeding,” the architect and developer told the Port Angeles Business Association at its weekly breakfast meeting Tuesday morning.
Ehm, president of Ehm Architecture of Seattle and San Diego, Calif., turned in his business plan and “due diligence” information to city officials last Friday.
His marketing plan will be available to the public this Friday.
Three city committees will review the material beginning Thursday, then will recommend to the City Council whether Ehm receive a 20-year, $2 million city bed tax subsidy.
The council is expected to vote on the project in early May.
Ehm hopes to get the necessary permits quickly and start building in July — with the hotel opening in May 2003.
