Both the Sequim and Port Angeles farmers markets, which are usually held on Saturday, have been closed this weekend because of thick smoke.
The smoke from wildfires in Oregon and California has degraded North Olympic Peninsula air quality into the hazardous zone.
The Sequim market, usually open form 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., announced Friday that it would be closed Saturday.
The Port Angeles market was closed Saturday morning, to keep vendors and customers safe and out of the smoky conditions, organizers said.
