PORT ANGELES — The MV Coho ferry dock is getting a facelift.
Construction crews hired by Black Ball Transport, Inc., are in the process of upgrading the ferry terminal and passenger ramp at 101 East Railroad Ave.
Black Ball owns and operates the Coho ferry, which links Port Angeles and Victoria.
The renovation project began last week with the demolition of the terminal and ramp.
Black Ball officials in Port Angeles and at the corporate office in Bellevue refused to comment on the construction project.
But city records show the project has been in the works for more than two years.
A city permit shows Black Ball Transport plans to replace approximately 15,000 square feet of pier as well as its buildings.
