PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center is accepting submissions now for the annual “Art Outside” installations in Webster’s Woods, the 5-acre art park wrapped around the center at 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
There’s no charge to submit a proposal for a site-specific work of art — either an existing piece or one created especially for the woods.
The deadline is May 16, and full details await at www.pafac.org via the “Call To Artists” link.
The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center has hosted the Art Outside sculpture exhibition in Webster’s Woods since then-Executive Director Jake Seniuk established it in 2000.
Seniuk curated all the exhibits until his retirement in 2013.
Now Robin Anderson, the current director of the fine arts center, is seeking artists who want to participate in the event’s 16th season.
She and her team of volunteers are also planning the summer solstice reception for Art Outside, to be held at the center Saturday, June 20.
The event will include self-guided tours of the woods, a fundraising barbecue, artisan booths and entertainment, along with the first chance to see the new artwork.
The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center’s indoor gallery, now showing Oregon artist Shannon Weber’s exhibition titled “Underwater,” is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays.
