A fire on Daishowa America property late Monday night gave off a lot of smoke but was out before Port Angeles city firefighters arrived.
The fire was reported shortly before 10:30 p.m. in the single story building that adjoins the company’s main building to the west.
Three Daishowa employees began attacking the fire with garden hoses and had it out before Port Angeles firefighters arrived.
One fire engine showed up, but firefighters did not even unroll the firehoses, according to a witness. No flames were visible, although the fire caused a lot of smoke.
The fire’s cause had not been determined.
