TACOMA — A Port Angeles woman who has eluded police since a November drug bust was charged Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Tacoma for felonies related to drugs and firearms.
Police arrested Barbara Ann Klar, 41, of 934 W. 14th St., on a felony warrant Tuesday evening at a Sequim motel following a tip, Sequim Police Officer Mark Poole said Wednesday.
Mrs. Klar was turned over to the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms on Wednesday and is being held at a federal detention center in SeaTac.
She appeared before Magistrate Judge J. Kelley Arnold and was charged with three counts of methamphetamine distribution, one count of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, one count of possession of an unregistered destructive device and one count of a felon in possession of firearms.
Court documents show she had eight shotguns, 23 rifles and 14 handguns when searched by police. Klar was previously convicted for forgery stemming from a 1984 case.
