PORT ANGELES — The bid opening for the Hood Canal Bridge renovation project and Port Angeles graving yard has been delayed for a third time.
It was scheduled for Wednesday but has been put off until June 18, said Lloyd Brown, communications manager for the state Department of Transportation.
“We need a couple more weeks before opening bids on the project,” he said. “We fully expected to receive permits at last minute, and we are receiving those permits.
“There’s some details of the permits that need additional review before we open bids.”
The original date was April 23. Then it was pushed back to May 21.
It was rescheduled again for Wednesday because of the massive amount of paperwork involved, officials said.
