PORT ANGELES — The city’s parking advisory committee on Thursday proposed three solutions to replace downtown parking lost when the International Gateway Transportation Center is built.
Tim Smith, city economic development director, said committee members still need to confirm that the solutions will create about 192 parking spaces — and then cost estimates need to be developed.
The committee — comprised of ferry officials, downtown business leaders and city officials — will meet again at 3 p.m. next Thursday in City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
City Manager Michael Quinn said the proposals won’t go to the Gateway Design Review Committee until designs and cost estimates are available.
Clallam Transit also must be consulted about the proposed solutions, he said.
The solutions address only the loss of parking due to Gateway.
