PORT ANGELES — Hallie Alley is home with her new heart, and she’s doing well.
Her grandparents described the toddler as being in good spirits and once again demonstrating the independent and strong-willed personality she has exhibited since her birth almost two years ago.
“It is amazing what a new heart can do,” said grandmother Kathleen Anding. “She will be two years old on May 17 and is doing just wonderful.”
Hallie underwent a heart transplant March 16 after being placed on the national heart transplant list March 11.
All the family knows is that the donated heart came from a child in Phoenix.
Hallie was diagnosed with congenital heart failure Feb. 17 after doctors found a tumor on the left side of her heart.
