OAK HARBOR — Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets from Port Angeles High School competed in a divisional competition Feb. 16 at Oak Harbor High School.
Color Guard No. 2 and the Physical Strength team placed first in their events.
The Armed Drill team and precision Air Rifle team placed second.
Color Guard No. 1 and the sporter Air Rifle team placed third.
The Unarmed drill team placed fifth and the Academics squad came in seventh.
Color Guard No. 2, the Physical Strength team, the Armed Drill team and Color Guard No. 1 qualified for the regional competition Saturday, March 16 in Oregon City, Ore.
In individual competition, Markus Musalek won the Armed exhibition and qualified for the regional competition.
Kathryn Guttormsen placed second in Physical Strength and Ben Yeski placed second as Armed Drill commander.
Third place honors went to Nathan Seelye, Armed Drill and to Sundar Woodyard, sporter Air Rifle.
Makayla Peabody placed fifth as Unarmed Drill commander.
