Port Angeles High School schedules college fair

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles High School College & Career Fair will host representatives of more than 55 institutions to provide information about post-secondary education options Tuesday.

The fair will be from 8 a.m. to 9:35 a.m. in the auditorium and the activities gym at the high school at 304 E. Park Ave.

Students will find representatives of two-year colleges, four-year private colleges, four-year public colleges and career and technical schools, as well as military branches. Representatives also will be available to talk about community-based employers and apprentice programs, on-the-job training programs and college/financial aid.

The student body will be divided into two groups.

Freshmen and sophomores will begin in the auditorium to listen to three short presentations, then proceed to the activities gym to interact with college and career representatives.

Juniors and seniors will begin in the activities gym, then proceed to the auditorium for the second half of their allotted time.

Speakers in the auditorium will be Paul Kelly with the College Success Foundation, telling how to get the most from the college fair; Patrice Varela-Daylo of WorkSource with an employment forecast; and Elizabeth Griswold of Peninsula College discussing financial aid.
