PORT ANGELES – Independence Day in Port Angeles was celebrated with an afternoon concert, fireworks reflecting off the harbor and a parade that was “red, white and cute.”
That’s what a sign following the Port Angeles Baton Club read as the troupe of young girls marched down Lincoln and First streets.
Spectators lined downtown streets Wednesday evening to view the annual Fourth of July Parade, which began with a fly-over by an orange Coast Guard HH-65 Dolphin helicopter based on Ediz Hook.
The parade route was graced by the Clallam County Fair royalty on a float covered in green pink and gold tinsel, Clallam County’s first car, candidates for fall elections and community groups and businesses with antics to make people smile.
