PORT ANGELES — Supporters of a proposed ice rink will hold their first meeting at 7 tonight at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St.
City Councilman and former mayor Gary Braun first publicly presented the idea at a Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce luncheon in March.
Braun said at that March meeting he was on a “fact-finding mission” to gauge the level of interest in a city ice rink, adding that he has no cost, location or funding sources in mind yet.
Tonight’s meeting will feature a PowerPoint presentation on the idea by Port Angeles resident Len Rasmussen, who also serves on the city’s Planning Commission.
