PORT ANGELES — The historic Lincoln Theatre plans to close on Mother’s Day, May 13.
Citing a dispute over the building lease, film buyer John Harsh of Sun Basin Theaters, which operates the three-screen, 163-seat downtown movie theater, confirmed the pending closure Tuesday.
The Lincoln posted a big sign saying it would close and thanking patrons “for many years of support.”
This decision surprised Dick McLean, owner of McLean’s Shoes and president of G.M. Lauridsen Trust, which owns the Lincoln Theatre’s landmark building.
“We’re still trying to negotiate,” said McLean. “We’re hopeful something can be worked out.”
