PORT ANGELES — The latest Gateway Center design received favorable reviews Friday afternoon, but parking remains an issue.
Unless additional funding can be found, the project could lose another 30 to 40 public parking spaces.
There is just enough money available for the “baseline project,” which does not include a planned underground parking lot, said Tacoma architect Lee Pardini, chief designer of “The Port Angeles International Gateway Transportation Center.”
The $4.5 million city-state-federal project would be located on a portion of a city block known as “Tidelands East,” bounded by Railroad Avenue and Front, Lincoln and Laurel streets.
