PORT ANGELES — After 17 years and a 14-fold growth in both size and work force, Northwest Duty Free Stores will close its shop in The Landing mall on Sept. 15.
The store at 115 E. Railroad Ave. will vacate the premises 15 days later.
Terry Roth, general manager, announced the closure Wednesday during a campaign appearance at the Port Angeles Rotary Club.
Roth is running against incumbent Clallam County Commissioner Mike Chapman in the Nov. 4 general election.
The store in The Landing, Roth said, does most of its trade in alcohol and tobacco products, although it also sells fragrances and gift items.
It is one of several stores in Washington and other states owned by Lynnwood-based Northwest Duty Free Stores Inc.
