PORT ANGELES –Dennis Sullivan says a statement addressing allegations that he is ineligible to be chairman of the Lower Elwha Klallam tribe will be issued after a closed-door meeting tonight.
The meeting between the tribal council and the tribal election board committee will address accusations by tribal member David Charles.
Charles says Sullivan cannot hold office because officers must be an eligible voting member of the Lower Elwha Klallam tribe.
He said Sullivan does not qualify because he lives outside a five-mile radius of the Lower Elwha reservation in west Port Angeles.
