PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man who was charged in December with two counts of child rape has pleaded not guilty to additional rape charges.
Walter F. Mozingo, 52, faces a May 11 trial in Clallam County Superior Court.
He pleaded during a hearing in Superior Court on Friday.
Mozingo was charged Dec. 18 with two counts of first-degree rape of a child after two girls were interviewed by Port Angeles police.
The rapes allegedly took place when the children were younger than 12.
Clallam County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Michele Devlin added two new charges — first-degree rape of a child and third-degree rape of a child — on Feb. 6 after a third girl was interviewed by police.
The alleged victim told Port Angeles Police Detective Kori Malone that she was raped by Mozingo multiple times over a period of about eight years.
Mozingo remained Saturday in the Clallam County jail on $50,000 bail.
He was released from jail shortly after his Dec. 15 arrest and re-arrested Dec. 23 for violating a protection order by having third-party communication with a woman connected to the alleged victims.
