Port Angeles man faces two trials on burglary, break-in charges

PORT ANGELES — A 26-hear-old man faces two trials in March, one on second-degree possession of stolen property after a burglary last Sunday and another on charges from an attempted break-in at a Sequim business.

Sean Della of Port Angeles pleaded not guilty to the stolen property charge Friday. Clallam County Superior Court Judge Christopher Melly set a trial date of March 16 and a status hearing for Feb. 27.

Della was arrested Sunday after an early morning burglary of Spotlight Tanning and Apparel at 715 E. First St. in Port Angeles.

In a separate court hearing Friday, Melly set a March 23 trial for Della in another case on charges from an attempted break-in at White Cup Espresso in Sequim.

Della was charged last November with attempted second-degree burglary, possession of heroin and making false or misleading statements to a public servant in the Sequim case.

Although Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jesse Espinoza had said additional charges might be filed against Della in the Spotlight burglary, none were added Friday.

“We are still considering amending charges,” said Espinoza, who added that the case remains under investigation.

Della remains in the Clallam County jail on $20,500 bail in the Spotlight case.

Store owner acts

Spotlight store owner Mandy Gallacci identified Della on Facebook using video from her store and, along with several friends, tracked him to an apartment at 934 W. Lauridsen Blvd. on Sunday after the burglary that morning, court papers said.

She called city police, who arrested Della after he fled out the back window of the apartment. Officers found him at South C and West Madrona streets.

Della is also suspected of a recent burglary at Sabai Thai, 903 W. Eighth St., Port Angeles, Espinoza has said.
