TACOMA — A federal court has sentenced a 29-year-old Port Angeles man to three years in prison for a firearm offense.
Leo Claude Blanton, as a convicted felon, illegally possessed six firearms, court documents say.
He pleaded guilty in January to two violations of United States Code Title 18 in U.S. District Court in Tacoma.
He was sentenced Monday.
Port Angeles police found the guns when responding to a domestic-violence call in August 2011.
He also was in possession of body armor and drug paraphernalia, according to a police probable-cause statement.
The Port Angeles Police Department requested the assistance of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. The federal court agreed to take the case at the request of both agencies.
Blanton was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshals after his sentencing.
He will be supervised for three years after his release.
