PORT ANGELES — A man working aboard a barge that caught fire Friday night in Port Angeles Harbor was in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Brad Peterson of Freshwater Bay remained hospitalized with first-degree and second-degree burns to the hands and face, a nursing supervisor said Saturday.
Peterson was working aboard a 100-foot by 40-foot barge between fish pens 200 yards off Ediz Hook when it caught fire around 10 p.m. Friday.
The fire could be seen from many vantage points in Port Angeles as flames jumped more than 30 feet in the air.
