Port Angeles motorcycle wreck still under investigation

PORT ANGELES — A Saturday motorcycle wreck in Port Angeles remained under investigation Tuesday by the Port Angeles Police Department.

Adam Sandy, 33, of Okanogan, riding a motorcycle eastbound on East Eighth Street, was at South Lincoln Street when a 1995 Mazda MX3 driven by Dustan Lloyd, 35, of Port Angeles pulled out of the fuel station at the corner of Eighth and Lincoln streets and onto Eighth Street, said Deputy Police Chief Brian Smith.

The motorcycle struck the vehicle, Smith said.

Sgt. Glen Roggenbuck said Sandy suffered leg injuries and was taken to Olympic Medical Center’s emergency room.

A hospital spokesman Monday said he had no record of Sandy.

Lloyd was cited for failure to yield the right of way, Smith said.

However, the police are investigating additional factors that led to the wreck, including Sandy’s speed at the time of the collision, he said.

Even if Sandy was exceeding the speed limit, it will not affect the right-of-way issue, Smith added.
